Early Life and Education
I was born in the Lyantonde District of Uganda and raised in the rural villages of Wabigalo, Nakasongola District, where my parents were farmers. My educational journey, though filled with obstacles, was a testament to the power of resilience and community support.
My foundation was laid at Wabigalo Primary School, a government-aided institution where I completed my Primary Leaving Examinations. I then progressed to Nakasongola S.S. for my Ordinary Level education and later attended Katikamu SDA for my Advanced Levels. For my tertiary education, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Makerere University and a Master’s Degree from the University of the Free State in South Africa.
This path was far from easy. During my primary years, I walked 8 kilometers to and from school each day, braving both intense sun and torrential rain. There were also many occasions when I had to miss classes to herd my family’s cattle, a responsibility that often took precedence. My secondary education began with a year-long bicycle commute until a pivotal moment: my class teacher, recognizing the challenges I faced, generously invited me to stay with her in the teachers’ quarters. This kind intervention saved me from frequent late arrivals and the inevitable absences whenever the rains came.
Throughout it all, I persevered. I am where I am today courtesy of the unwavering support of my parents, the encouragement of my community, and, above all, by the grace of God.
